ARAG is hiring a test automation specialist. This person is responsible for developing and coordinating automated testing and data analysis necessary to ensure software development projects are delivered on time and with the highest quality possible. They also work on the development of automated test plans and scripts, review of test cases and maintenance of an automation regression test suite to aid in identifying and fixing defects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes automated tests using Selenium.
  • Reviews, defines, and writes acceptance criteria for user stories ensuring each are testable. Creates test automation to meet acceptance criteria.
  • Monitors and maintains continuous integration schedules.
  • Collaborates with developers, end users and scrum team to create test plans and scripts.
  • Updates standards and guidelines for automation.
  • Works closely with Product Owners and Scrum Teams to understand product specifics, prioritize features for automation, and to create corresponding automation test strategies, including elimination of duplication.
  • Participates in scrum team estimation of stories and sizing of effort to include the representation of the test automation and engagement with Continuous Integration (CI)
  • Runs test validations at various levels including DB validation, rules validation, service validation, logging validation, and UI validation.
  • Tracks problems and reports on errors that are identified.
  • Tests program for validity of results, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Ensures thorough end to end testing prior to implementation.
  • Creates testing documentation to ensure completeness based on project requirements.
  • Communicates test progress, results and other relevant information to project stakeholders, scrum team, and management.
  • Reviews related tools for improvement in our test approach and strategies, when asked.
  • Grows the organizational trust in the automation solutions.
  • Executes manual testing, when asked.
  • Documents testing activities using best practices to maintain traceability using Rally or similar tools.
  • Serves as a positive role model by representing ARAG at its Best.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Experience with software like Rally, Jira, or Azure DevOps for defect and test case.
  • Understanding of full quality management lifecycle for application development.
  • Experience with system, functional, integration and regression testing.
  • Understanding of automated testing approaches and tools.
  • Experience with SQL and understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience testing web-based applications.

Skills

Required

  • Experience using testing automation tools.
  • Must have knowledge and understand fundamental concepts of Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD), Automated Testing (GUI, database, and service), User Acceptance Testing.
  • Ability to help analyze and translate requirements and development stories into test scripts.
  • Experience developing in C# using Visual Studio.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork, commitment, and cooperation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly articulate and present concepts to varying audiences.
  • Ability to take initiative and advocate for purposeful change and constant improvement that sets ARAG apart from the rest.
  • Highly organized with ability to effectively self-manage workload across multiple project teams.
  • Ability to effectively operate, multi-task, and remain positive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on a tactical level.

  • Availability to work during off peak work hours when necessary to ensure smooth operations during office hours.

Preferred

  • Experience using Selenium.
  • Experience with Cucumber and behavior driven development of automated testing, including Gherkin.
  • Experience using security scanning tools (example Qualys) inside the automation pipeline to enhance our security posture through automation testing and tools.
  • Experience with Oracle.
  • Knowledge and experience testing in an AGILE environment.
  • Docker and Jenkins experience.
  • Experience using BrowserStack or a similar virtual instance technology in the automation framework.
  • Load and performance testing experience.

Education

  • Four-year college level education, or equivalent combination of education, experience and formal training in IT or a related field.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in QA Methodology or related field. Minimum 1 year of development and implementation of automation or a related field.

Certifications, Licenses, Associations, etc.

  • None required.
